Carbon coated copper is used primarily for thermal conduction and heat dissipation in heating units, doubling as an electromagnetic shield.  Composed of artificial graphite with electroplated copper, it combines a visually gray-black graphite surface with a purple-red copper surface, typically ranging in thickness from 0.027 to 0.07 mm.
