Worm gears are commonly used to transmit motion and power between two interleaved shafts. The worm gear and the worm are equivalent to the gear and the rack in their middle plane, and the worm is similar in shape to the screw.
Modulus m, pressure angle, worm diameter coefficient q, lead angle, number of worm heads, number of worm gear teeth, addendum height coefficient (take 1) and head clearance coefficient (take 0.2). The modulus m and pressure angle refer to the modulus and pressure angle of the axial surface of the worm, that is, the modulus and pressure angle of the end surface of the worm wheel, both of which are standard values; the worm diameter coefficient q is the ratio of the diameter of the worm pitch circle to its modulus m.
