The microfluidic lab on a chip, also known as the lab-on-a-chip or microfluidic chip technology, integrates basic operation units such as sample preparation, reaction, separation, and detection through biological, chemical, and medical analysis into a micrometer on the chip, the whole analysis process is completed automatically.

Silicone, as Insulation and light transmittance are poor, deep etching is difficult, and low success rate of silicon substrate bonding, that’s why the silicone material not widely used.


Glass is widely used in the manufacture of microfluidic chips. It uses lithography and etching technology to engrave the microchannel grid into glass materials. It has the advantages of a certain strength, good heat dissipation, light transmittance and insulation, and is very suitable for common sample analysis, but the cost is high.


High polymer materials have been applying to Mass production depend on Low cost, easy processing and forming, can be mass production. Include PI, PMMA, PC, PET and etc.
